Sipping coffee as the world drifts by in silence
— then I saw you.
So effortlessly free
with tousled hair and a plain white tee.
And suddenly time was frozen.
Like the hands on the clock of my watch feels burdened
to move.
Because when I say I saw you
I mean I wanted to tell you all the books that I have read.
I wanted to tell you how I stayed all day in my bed
rereading my favorite novel.
And I felt the first tick of the hand of my clock move ever so slow
Just as fast as how I would say the word hello.
For just one moment, you were my muse,
in this short poem where I traced your hues.
Love At First Sip
