Slow Burn (candlelight)

A small poem about a candle burning out, in pain, and in losing love. (excerpts from the total poem ^^).

Lit again, was I
Such a fool, was I
Stupid to think about it once more, was I
Lost in a long, lost love once more, was I
But whatever was I thinking?
Such foolishness, no doubt I was breaking
These elusive thoughts I keep thinking and taking
These detailed thoughts that my mind keeps on making
I was a fool to think I grew up a developed character
I didn't imagine I ended up missing the latter
Egging on me, with the sounds of pitter patter
Little girl was I, had made me matter
Bring me back to sweet, sweet blossoms
Slow Burn (candlelight)
